Hikma Health System
The Hikma Health system is an agile, cloud-based, and easy-to-integrate mobile health data platform. The system is intended for use by clinicians working in low-resource settings to easily collect, store, and access patient health information. The system enables clinics to rapidly deliver quality personalized healthcare to refugees, migrants, and others served in low-resource settings.
The Hikma Health system is an Android mobile application that offers a fully functional electronic medical record system, with the following key features:
Online/offline sync
Multiple language support (Arabic, English, Spanish)
Rapid and customizable workflows including COVID screening
Report generation and population health analytics
The Hikma Health system is optimal for organizations running multiple workflows for patient care in time-limited and resource-limited settings. Clinical teams using Hikma Health serve patients in diverse settings from mobile van clinics to multi-specialty clinics.
Deploying Our System
The Hikma Health system is open-source and available for free global use under the MIT license. Any clinical organization planning to implement an electronic health record system is able to create a separate branch or fork of the open-source software available on the Hikma Health GitHub and create their own deployment. Detailed technical documentation to customize and deploy the system can be found here. Clinical organizations can also customize the existing medical forms and workflows within the mobile application to fit their unique contexts and programs. This implementation manual provides guidance and best practices for customizing and deploying the Hikma Health system.
Additionally, Hikma Health provides direct support to clinical organizations that benefit from funding and guidance on how to implement the system through our Care Innovation Grant program. We most recently supported eight nonprofit organizations with Year of Migrant Health Grants in 2022.
